Sports and I were two different worlds. I enjoyed swimming and that’s pretty much it. Over the years of sitting in front of a computer and not doing anything physical, I put on weight, little by little. I have tried going to a gym but it would never last because I just didn’t like working out and the idea of people making fun of me when working out. Then I heard of CrossFit. At first, I though it wasn’t for me, too “hardcore”. When I realized it wasn’t only for young athlete already in shape, I decided to give it a try. It is challenging but scalable. The feeling of finishing a workout that was first thought impossible is awesome and the cheering (not judging) from other CrossFitters makes all the difference. I have been doing CrossFit for 8 months now and lost 40 pounds. When started, I couldn’t do a single push-up. I was doubling the thick black-band to do pull-up. Now, I can do push-ups, handstand on the wall, rope climb and even a kipping pull-up without band. But the best part is I now enjoy working out (even running) and I don’t care what people might think of me when I work out, I am just happy to do it for myself.
